Faculty, student, and alumni congress features international webinar with ASEAN partners
Reinforcing its commitment to global collaboration under the theme "Bridging Generations: Uniting Faculty, Students, and Alumni for a Global Vision," the Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation (MSEUF) brought together faculty, students, and alumni for an international webinar at the University Library and via Zoom, Feb. 10.
Dr. Choong Yuen Onn, professor at the Faculty of Business and Finance, Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) Malaysia, delivered the keynote address, where he emphasized the importance of intergenerational learning and international partnerships in preparing students for a rapidly changing world.
“Collaboration among ASEAN institutions fosters innovation and academic excellence. By bridging generations and strengthening our networks, we equip students with the skills to navigate global challenges,” Dr. Onn said.
Dr. Luh Yusni Wiatri, deputy director for Partnership, Student Affairs, and Alumni at Bali Tourism Polytechnic, discussed industry-academic partnerships in tourism education, explaining the role of alumni in guiding students toward career success.
“Engaging both students and alumni in academic and industry partnerships ensures that future professionals remain connected to real-world demands. This bridge between generations creates a lasting impact on education and career development,” Dr. Wiatri said.
Aaron Dale Black, CEO and owner of ZIP Travel Philippines, shared insights on global mobility and career opportunities, encouraging students to seek international experiences and build on the foundations laid by previous generations.
“Students who explore global opportunities stand out in their careers. Learning from those who came before them and embracing new challenges will prepare them for the demands of a borderless workforce,” Black said.
Congratulatory messages from ASEAN partner institutions highlighted the significance of generational collaboration in advancing global education. The event reinforced the university’s goal of fostering lifelong learning and professional growth.
University Collegiate Student Council President Gianne Pagana closed the program, stressing the value of connecting students, faculty, and alumni in shaping a shared vision for the future.
“This webinar strengthened our connections with ASEAN partners and provided valuable perspectives for our students and faculty. By working together across generations, we ensure that our university continues to grow and adapt to global standards,” Pagana said.
