LIB.COM conducts benchmarking visits to UP Diliman, Ateneo libraries

LIB.COM conducted a benchmarking activity at the College of Engineering Library of the University of the Philippines Diliman, the Rizal Library of Ateneo de Manila University, and the Manila International Book Fair on Sept. 11.

The activity aimed to support the mission of the University Libraries by enhancing the acquisition of diverse and relevant resources aligned with curricular and educational goals. It also sought to keep library staff updated on current trends and technologies to ensure responsive and future-ready library services.

Members experienced the technology-rich and wellness-focused Learning Commons of the UP Diliman College of Engineering Library, which deepened their understanding of user-centered library design and the integration of digital technologies in academic spaces.

At the Rizal Library of Ateneo de Manila University, participants explored historically and culturally significant collections, strengthening their appreciation of the role of academic libraries in cultural preservation and heritage management.

The benchmarking activity concluded with a visit to the Manila International Book Fair, where LIB.COM members familiarized themselves with credible local and international publications, providing valuable exposure for Library and Information Science students to the publishing landscape.
