Association of Operations Management Students

The Association of Operations Management Students participated in a tree-planting activity on Feb. 10 at the MSEUF Forest Research Site, as part of the 79th Foundation Week celebration of Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation to promote environmental awareness and social responsibility.

The activity began at 6:30 a.m. and gathered students, faculty and staff who supported sustainability initiatives across campus.

Two AOMS members joined the outreach effort and planted seedlings alongside other university volunteers, reinforcing the organization’s commitment to environmental stewardship and responsible resource management.

Organizers said the initiative aimed to strengthen awareness of sustainability while encouraging teamwork and volunteerism among participating groups.

Through its involvement, AOMS demonstrated support for the University’s long-term environmental programs and community development efforts.

The activity reflected the University’s core values of Service, Unity and Fortitude by encouraging collective action for environmental protection. It also supported experiential learning as students applied social responsibility principles beyond the classroom.

  • SDG 13 – Climate Action: Tree planting contributes to carbon reduction and climate change mitigation efforts.

  • SDG 15 – Life on Land: The initiative supported reforestation and the protection of terrestrial ecosystems.

  • SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals: Collaboration among student organizations strengthened collective environmental action.
