Geodetic engineering group promotes professional awareness through online trivia
Promoting greater understanding of the history and professional recognition of geodetic engineering in the Philippines, the Geodetic Engineers of the Philippines–Quezon Student Chapter conducted an information dissemination activity titled “GEym Trivia?” through an educational publication on its social media platform.
The publication highlighted Republic Act No. 4374, identified in the submitted information as the Geodetic Engineering Law, and discussed its role in formally recognizing qualified practitioners as Geodetic Engineers and replacing the term “Surveyor.”
The feature also emphasized the professionalization of the discipline and the establishment of standards that promote competence, integrity and accountability in professional practice.
Through the online initiative, GEP-QSC introduced students and members of the University community to the historical development of geodetic engineering and its contributions to land measurement, mapping and national development.
The activity strengthened awareness of the profession’s responsibilities and standards while encouraging greater appreciation of the role geodetic engineers play in society.
The activity supported Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation’s commitment to student-centered learning by providing accessible educational content that strengthened professional awareness beyond the classroom. It also reflected the core values of Excellence and Mindfulness by promoting informed understanding of professional standards, responsibilities and ethical practice.
