The CAS Social Sciences Society joined students, faculty and staff in a tree-planting activity on Feb. 10 at the MSEUF Forest Research Site to celebrate the 79th Founding Anniversary of Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation and promote environmental sustainability.
The initiative began at 6 a.m. and gathered representatives from various university organizations in a unified effort to strengthen environmental stewardship across campus.
The activity featured the planting of dwarf coconut tree seedlings donated by the Philippine Coconut Authority–Quezon. Organizers said the seedlings will support long-term ecological sustainability and may provide future economic benefits to the surrounding community.
The partnership between the University and the government agency highlighted the value of collaboration in advancing environmental protection and sustainable development.
Through active participation, members of the CAS Social Sciences Society reinforced their commitment to environmental responsibility while strengthening solidarity within the academic community as the University approached eight decades of service and academic excellence.
The activity reflected the University’s core values of Service, Unity and Fortitude by mobilizing the community toward a shared environmental goal. It also demonstrated transformative and outcomes-oriented learning as students engaged directly in sustainability initiatives beyond the classroom.
