HSLKP, Epsilon Upsilon address stereotypes through awareness seminar

Promoting informed dialogue and addressing common stereotypes about fraternities and sororities, HSLKP and Epsilon Upsilon conducted a fraternity and sorority awareness seminar on Aug. 28 at ETC 101 of the College of Business and Accountancy Building.
Held from 2 to 5 p.m., the activity brought together HSLKP officers, members and alumni, Epsilon Upsilon officers and members, hosts and other participants for discussions on the values, experiences and roles of fraternity and sorority organizations.
The program featured two speakers who shared their experiences and insights on fraternity and sorority involvement. Their discussions highlighted academic excellence, leadership and partnership as values that guide their respective organizations.
After each presentation, participants joined raffle activities before taking part in an open forum where they could ask questions directly to the speakers. The program concluded with an evaluation session that invited attendees to reflect on what they had learned and how the discussion influenced their perspectives.
Despite the small number of participants, the seminar encouraged active engagement and provided a venue for participants to examine common perceptions associated with fraternities and sororities.
Through the activity, HSLKP and Epsilon Upsilon promoted greater awareness of their organizations while encouraging students to make informed decisions about participation, leadership and future engagement.
The seminar supported Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation’s commitment to student-centered development by providing a space for dialogue, reflection and informed participation in student organizations. It also reflected the core values of Excellence and Unity by emphasizing leadership, academic responsibility and constructive engagement among students.
