JMA officers strengthen governance skills at parliamentary procedure seminar

Strengthening student leadership, governance and decision-making skills, representatives of the Junior Marketing Association participated in the parliamentary procedure seminar “Order in the Room: Mastering and Simplifying the Use of Parliamentary Procedure for Student Organizations” on Aug. 29 at EMRC IV A, B and C of Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation.
Representing JMA were Vice President for Internal Affairs Mary Kim Macafe, Vice President for External Affairs Sabine Ricaplaza and Assistant Treasurer Aaliyah Aliling. EUJPIA conducted the seminar with Atty. Rei Baligod as the resource speaker.
The discussion introduced participants to the fundamentals of parliamentary procedure, including its legal framework, guiding principles, hierarchy and proper use of motions, voting methods, order of business, and the responsibilities of presiding officers and secretaries.
The program opened with welcoming remarks from Ms. Junio, followed by the introduction of Atty. Baligod. Participants learned practical applications through examples, a mock parliamentary session and an interactive question-and-answer segment that addressed concerns related to meeting documentation and organizational practices.
The seminar emphasized parliamentary procedure as a practical framework for conducting orderly, efficient and democratic meetings and for helping organizations reach fair and collective decisions.
The program concluded with the presentation of certificates and closing remarks by Francheska Czarina Macaraig. Through the activity, the JMA representatives gained knowledge that can help them conduct more organized, transparent and productive meetings while strengthening accountability and professionalism within the organization.
The activity supported the University’s commitment to student-centered and outcomes-oriented education by developing practical competencies in leadership, communication, governance and decision-making.
