Student Organizations assemble for Booth Fair 2024

Accredited student organizations depicted their assigned ASEAN countries during the kick-off ceremony of the University's 77th Founding Anniversary Celebration. The opening of the booth fair marked the beginning of the festivities at the MSEUF Covered Court, Feb 12. 

Students and visitors were treated to an exhibit of ASEAN booths, gimmicks, products, services, and inventive showcases of the assigned ASEAN countries to each participating accredited student organization of the University. 

Dr. Augusta Rosario Villamater, serving as the overall chairperson of the 77th Founding Anniversary Celebration, took the stage to officially inaugurate the ceremony together with activity chairperson Engr. Cielito Maligalig, dean of the College of Engineering. 

Academic deans also attended the opening ceremony, including Dean Rodrigo Belleza, Jr. of the College of Computing and Multimedia Studies, Dr. Henedina Lagumen of the College of Criminal Justice and Criminology, Dr. Divina Glifonea of the College of Education and Ar. Jennifer Sanchez of the College of Architecture and Fine Arts. Arby Lagman, Health and Safety Officer, and Felomena Quizana, president of the University Collegiate Student Council, also visited the exhibits. 

The excitement culminated in the final judging and awarding ceremony, Feb. 15. The United Architects of the Philippines Student Auxiliary-MSEUF Chapter garnered first place for its booth with a Thai theme. The booth displayed creativity through live sketch portraits, temporary henna tattoos, and the sale of charms, bracelets, and stickers. Additionally, the booth showcased various artworks and paintings. 

The MSEUF Psychological Society secured second place for its Indonesian inspired booth featuring carnival games with psychological themes, such as managing emotions and expressing inner shadows. 

The Hospitality Management Society earned third place for its Laotian-inspired booth. 

The success of the Booth Fair not only marked the beginning of a weeklong celebration but also highlighted the vibrant spirit and creativity thriving within the EU community.

• SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.  The collaboration between accredited student organizations and the University administration to organize the Booth Fair demonstrates the importance of partnerships in achieving common objectives related to education, entrepreneurship and sustainable development.
