MSEUF HRD hosts 'E-Voices Series 3' to celebrate National Women’s Month
Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation (MSEUF) celebrated National Women’s Month with E-Voices Series 3, an event organized by the Human Resource Department and the Gender and Development Committee. A total of 235 employees and students participated in the event, which featured activities promoting gender empowerment.
The celebration included a Zumba session and free haircuts, followed by a panel discussion attended by 67 faculty and staff. Panelists addressed key issues related to women’s leadership, equal opportunities, and work-life balance.
Karl Perry Laylo, executive producer of GMA Public Affairs, discussed gender inclusivity in media and communication. “Representation in media shapes how society views women. Ensuring diverse and inclusive storytelling is crucial in breaking stereotypes and fostering equality,” Laylo said.
Alyssa Marie Mijares, head of the Lucena City General Services Office, spoke about women’s leadership in governance. “Women leaders bring unique perspectives and solutions to the table. It’s time we normalize women in leadership positions across all sectors,” Mijares emphasized.
Atty. Louella Janda of The Law Firm of Talampas and Associates emphasized the need for policies that guarantee equal opportunities. “Laws exist to protect and empower women, but implementation and awareness remain challenges. We must continue advocating for workplace policies that provide fair and equitable opportunities,” Janda highlighted.
Mary Rose Cadiente, CEO of Coefficients, highlighted the challenges of balancing multiple roles. “Women often juggle careers, family, and community responsibilities. Recognizing and supporting these roles can create an environment where women thrive both professionally and personally,” Cadiente said.
Dr. Maria Sylvia Avila, director of MSEUF’s Human Resource Department, emphasized the University’s commitment to gender equality. “Through initiatives like E-Voices, we reinforce our dedication to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment. Gender equality is not just a conversation; it is an ongoing commitment that requires action from all of us,” Avila said.
