Success often begins with the courage to step into new places, meet different people, and learn from every experience. For Serapio “Rupert” Vito, a proud Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management graduate, Class of 2003, from the College of International Hospitality and Tourism Management (CIHTM), that journey started at Enverga University and continues today in a field where communication, trust, and responsibility matter deeply.

Now working as a Reputation and Stakeholder Management Operations Specialist at AboitizPower - Therma Luzon, Inc., Rupert has built a career shaped by service, confidence, and the ability to connect with people from different walks of life.

Prepared for the World of Work

Rupert credits Enverga University for helping him transition smoothly from student life to professional life. His training in hospitality taught him not only technical skills but also the value of communication, teamwork, and professionalism.

“Enverga University has exceptionally prepared me for a smooth transition from school to work by providing me with the skills necessary to succeed,” he shared. “This experience has also helped to develop my communication skills, as I was required to work with others, most especially when Enverga sent me to Singapore for a hotel practicum.”

Being sent to Singapore for his hotel practicum became one of the defining moments of his Envergan journey. It exposed him to international standards, diverse cultures, and real hospitality work, giving him the confidence to build a strong professional foundation.

“I feel that the experience I gained was truly valuable, as it has prepared me for my successful hospitality career thus far,” he added. “During my education, I additionally became good in communicating with different types of people.”

From Hospitality to Reputation Management

Rupert’s career path shows how an Envergan education can open doors beyond one field. The communication and people skills he developed in hospitality became valuable in his current role in reputation and stakeholder management.

Today, he helps strengthen relationships, support communication efforts, and contribute to trust-building work at AboitizPower - Therma Luzon, Inc. His professional growth reached another milestone when he passed the 2025 Crisis Communication Planner Exam given by The International Consortium for Organizational Resilience (ICOR).

This achievement reflects his commitment to continuous learning and his readiness to serve in moments when clear, responsible, and timely communication matters most.

A Life Moved by Passion

Rupert’s Envergan story is also filled with art, movement, and pride. During his college years, he became known for dancing as one of the pioneers of the Banyuhay Dance Troupe. From 1999 to 2003, he was chosen as the group’s Jazz Master, a role that strengthened his confidence, discipline, and love for performance.

“I became popular in dancing because I am one of the pioneers of Banyuhay Dance Troupe and was chosen to be the Jazz Master back in 1999 to 2003,” he recalled.

For Rupert, those years were more than performances. They were moments of self-expression, friendship, and belonging that made his college life more meaningful.

Inspired by Life and Purpose

What keeps Rupert moving forward is simple but powerful: his love and respect for life.

“My love and respect for life inspires me to move forward,” he said. “When I have done my best, then I feel a soothing sense of accomplishment. Knowing that I am making a difference in a positive way inspires me. Truly a proud Envergan here!”

His words reflect the heart of an Envergan: someone who serves with purpose, grows through experience, and carries gratitude wherever life leads.
