Wired for Growth: John Albert Nocum’s Envergan Journey in IT and Cisco Networking
In the fast-moving world of information technology, success belongs to those who keep learning. For John Albert Nocum, a proud BSIT graduate with specialization in Cisco Networking from the College of Computing and Multimedia Studies, Class of 2022, that mindset began at Enverga University.
As a student, John Albert showed strong discipline and academic excellence. He earned recognition as a Dean’s Lister, University and College Scholar, and was awarded Excellence in IT Capstone, proving his dedication to both learning and innovation.
Prepared for a Technology-Driven Future
John Albert credits Enverga University for giving him a strong foundation in technology and professional readiness.
“MSEUF helped prepare me for the future in terms of what I needed to become as a BSIT student back then,” he shared. “The university truly placed its students on par with the latest technologies, facilities, and excellent professors.”
For him, the university’s learning environment helped students gain confidence in using emerging tools and understanding real-world industry needs.
“This helped not only me but also my fellow Envergans,” he added. “EU is known for its various achievements, not just internationally but globally, which made me more recognized and noticed when applying for jobs.”
Five Hours that Built Confidence
Among his most unforgettable memories was his Friday Cisco class, a five-hour session that first challenged him, then helped him grow.
“My most unforgettable memory would be my Cisco class every Friday, which lasted five hours—shoutout to Sir David,” he recalled. “At first, I was hesitant and unsure if I could pass or even survive the subject.”
What began with doubt eventually became one of his most meaningful learning experiences.
“Thankfully, I was proven wrong because I learned a lot and enjoyed every discussion,” he said. “Even though we were all scared of the upcoming lessons, my friends and I survived and always ended the class laughing.”
Those classes introduced him to the world of networking and gave him hands-on experience with actual network devices. More than the technical lessons, they also gave him memories of friendship, resilience, and shared growth.
Driven by Family and Purpose
John Albert’s motivation has always been clear: his family.
“My inspiration never changed when I was still a student, which was my desire to help and give my family a comfortable life,” he said. “That was, and will always be, my priority and goal.”
This purpose pushed him to study harder, embrace challenges, and keep improving even after graduation.
✨At Enverga University, students are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to thrive in a technology-driven world. Like John Albert Nocum, every Envergan can turn passion into purpose and learning into lifelong growth.
