Success in engineering is not only measured by technical skill, but by the discipline and determination to rise to every challenge. For Engr. Ian Bañares, a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering graduate (2023) through Enverga University’s ETEEAP Program, that journey led to one of his greatest milestones, becoming a Registered Electrical Engineer in April 2025.

Today, he continues to apply his expertise in real-world operations, ensuring efficiency, safety, and reliability in the systems he helps manage.

Bridging Experience and Education

Before earning his degree, Ian already had valuable industry experience. But he knew that to move forward in his career and achieve professional recognition, he needed a strong academic foundation.

Through Enverga University’s Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program (ETEEAP), he found the opportunity to bridge that gap.

“My education at Enverga University through the ETEEAP program was instrumental in preparing me not just for my career, but also for successfully passing the board exam,” he shared.

The program allowed him to align his practical knowledge with the theories and competencies required for licensure, turning his experience into expertise.

Built for Board Exam Success

For Ian, passing the board exam was not just a goal, it was a turning point.

“The curriculum was aligned with the board exam requirements, and the faculty provided relevant guidance, materials, and support that focused on both competency and exam readiness,” he explained.

With structured learning and strong mentorship, he developed the confidence to face one of the most challenging exams in the engineering field. His success as a Registered Electrical Engineer reflects not only his hard work, but also the quality of preparation he received.

Discipline that Drives Results

Balancing work and study is never easy. But through ETEEAP, Ian was able to continue his professional responsibilities while pursuing his degree.

“The flexibility of ETEEAP allowed me to continue working while studying, but it also instilled the discipline and focus required to prepare for a high-stakes exam,” he said.

This balance taught him more than technical knowledge, it strengthened his time management, perseverance, and commitment to excellence.

A Milestone that Opens Doors

Passing the board exam marked a new chapter in Ian’s journey. With his license and degree, he now moves forward in his career with greater confidence and credibility.

His story reflects the power of opportunity when education meets experience and how Enverga University helps professionals take that next step toward growth.
