OPERATIONS MANAGERS’ PERSONALITY TRAITS AS PREDICTORS OF SUCCESS OF SELECTED BUSINESS ESTABLISHMENTS IN LUCENA CITY

Abstract
This study explores the impact of personality traits of operations managers when
it comes to the success of a company. Furthermore, this study evaluates the
different personality traits that are needed by the operations managers for them
to contribute towards success. In order to examine the personality traits of
operations managers, a questionnaire containing fifty items from the big five
personality test made by Open Source Psychometrics Project were given to thirty
operations managers who are already working for three years and above in
selected business establishments in Lucena City. The correlation between
personality traits and success scored 0.32. The result showed relationship
between success and personality traits. The frequent personality trait of the
respondents is conscientiousness while the frequent rate of success is level four.
Personality traits were found to be one of the predictors of success.
