CONVERSION OF JAM CREDIT COOPERATIVE INTO A MULTI-PURPOSE COOPERATIVE IN LUCENA CITY: A READINESS STUDY

Abstract
The study focused on the readiness of the JAM credit cooperative to be converted
into a multi-purpose cooperative in Lucena, City. It used the descriptive survey method
to gather reliable data and described the current phenomenon relative to the problem.
Purposive sampling is used for the selection of the respondents which comprises of 10
employees and 90 members for a total of 100 respondents. Frequency, percentage and
weighted mean were used in the statistical analysis. Based on the findings, the two
groups of respondents who are members and employees of JAM credit cooperative
have the same perceptions of what they observed in the readiness of the conversion
when it comes to the financial aspect, management aspect, services offered and
property owned/facilities. Most of the respondents preferred the Health cooperative for
additional services. This study would benefit the following: the management, employees
and members of Jam Credit Cooperative, business establishments especially for
suppliers, unemployed or future applicant, the future researchers and the researchers
itself. The readinesses of Jam Credit Cooperative to become a Multi-purpose
Cooperative are favorable for most of the employees and members and most of the
respondents strongly agreed with the possible changes
