Readiness of Quezon Poultry and Livestock Corporation (QPLC) for ISO 9001 Certification as Perceived by Company Employees

Abstract

The study sought to assess the level of readiness of Quezon Poultry and Livestock Corporation for ISO Certification. Specifically, the study sought answers to the following questions 1) what is the implementation of operation by QPLC in terms of: customer focus; leadership; engagement of people; process approach; improvement; evidencebased decision making; and relationship management? 2) what the readiness of the QPLC in getting an ISO certification based on the findings of the study. The researchers of the study employed a descriptive-evaluative research design in order to facilitate the study. The respondents of the study purposively selected employees of the aforementioned company. Based on the findings of the study, the researchers concluded that the management of the Quezon Poultry and Livestock Corporation has high level of implementation in terms of the Seven Quality Management Principles of the ISO as perceived by their employees who served as the respondents of the study. These seven are customer focus, leadership, engagement of people, process approach, improvement, evidence-based decision making, and relationship management. Among the seven principles, the QPLC management’s strongest point is the implementation of the Process Approach while the principle which had the lowest weighted arithmetic mean is the Evidence-based Decision Making. However, all seven principles were observed by the respondents from the QPLC management.
