THE FUTURE OF AUTOMATED TELLER MACHINE: THE IMPACT OF AYDIL BANK’S CARDLESS WITHDRAWAL TO MILLENNIALS
Area of Research
Abstract
In this highly competitive and technological business world, banks are
undergoing rapid change. This study explored the impact of cardless withdrawal to
AyDil Bank millennials ATM card holders. It engaged the descriptive research design,
wherein observation and original questionnaire were used. AyDil Bank in Quezon
served as the locale of the study, where 110 millennials were purposively selected.
The data gathered were encoded and analyzed using Statistical Package for Social
Sciences (SPSS). The findings show that millennials in Quezon were technologically
inclined individuals. Most of the users were college graduate married females, and are
currently employed in private companies. They perceived that they will use the system
because it is easy to use. They agreed that using mobile banking, ATM, and cardless
withdrawal as a banking platform is secured, convenient, reliable, cost-effective, and
delivers good service. The ingenuity of the new withdrawal system indicated that AyDil
Bank clients are partially aware of the cardless withdrawal especially to those who
never used nor tried the system. Nonetheless, they are willing to test, recommend,
and believed that it would be beneficial to their future transaction. Yet it shows that
they are not ready to adapt to the emerging banking technology modernization.
Therefore, education and awareness can help millennials to be physically and
mentally ready for cardless withdrawal.
