Abstract

Transportation has been a necessity since the beginning of time. It has enabled humanity to go from one place to another whether for the purpose of travel in order to experience leisure or to proceed to one’s work, or with the intent of transferring and exchanging goods and commodities. It completes one of the necessities of humankind to be able to thrive into their everyday life. This architectural project, a transport hub is designed to cater to the needs of the people of Quezon Province by providing a one-stop area for their travel necessities with the intent of creating a positive outcome. This project comes in response to the dismal position held by the Philippines. According to the World Economic Forum (WEF) the Philippines placed at 120 out of 144 nations in 2013 that were assessed in terms of the quality of their ports infrastructure. The Philippines out of six ASEAN countries included, took the lowest place, which is an indication that the country needs to increasingly work to modernize its seaport. (Arangkada, 2018) Therefore, the Philippines needs to counteract these long-standing issues that has deliberately created a huge cut on the country’s worldwide exchange of goods and services and in expanding its tourism market that are both crucial to the nation’s revenues. (Arangkada, 2018) Therefore the proposed Integrated Transport Hub terminal is intended to enhance sea travel in the country, and to help decongest the entry of people and commodities in the Philippines that has long been detrimental to the economy. In addition, the project will give convenience to the public who frequently travel the different parts of Quezon Province. In the process, this transport hub will also enhance the tourism industry of the Municipality of Mauban, and to provide convenience to potential investors. In conclusion the proposed project aims to make an efficient terminal for the users, by designing a modernized seaport. The architecture of the proposed Integrated Transport Hub is set to be distinctive from the existing port of Quezon Province. It takes into consideration the present conditions of the environment and introduces a new breed of architectural design as applied into the transportation services.
