AN ASSESSMENT OF BUSINESS PROCESS OF PHILIPPINE FISHERIES DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY IN DALAHICAN, LUCENA CITY

Abstract

This study aimed to assess the business process of the Philippine Fisheries Development Authority. This study was evaluated based on the questionnaires given to the respondents. With this study, the researchers used descriptive method wherein quantitative methods emphasized objective measurements and the statistical, mathematical, or numerical analysis of data collected through questionnaires, and surveys. Specifically, this study aimed to identify the process mapping of PFDA in terms of: business process, customer experience, cost and process efficiency; determine the challenges/gaps experienced by PFDA in process mapping; and develop recommendations based from the results of the study. The respondents answered the questionnaire given by the researchers and was evaluated according to how many responded strongly agree, agree, no opinion, disagree and strongly disagree to the question given. Most of the respondents agreed to the questionnaire given by the researchers based from the result of the evaluation. The challenges/gaps experienced in the fishing industry like in Tayabas Bay restriction or implementation of Fishing Laws by BFAR is 10 – 15 km radius and it affects the volume of fishing catch. It is recommended that the result of this study aspire the future researchers to create an idea about their study.
