Waste management planning and implementation is an important economic, environmental, technical and administrative issue for national and international agenda. It is largely regulated by legislation and policy implemented at the municipal level, but there were significant provincial regulations that may come into play. In some instances federal regulations may also be relevant, particularly if dealing with hazardous substances or shipping waste across provincial boundaries. This study attempted to determine the effectiveness of waste management plan at sea and port facilities.
