Completed2014

Abstract

This study investigated the extent of empowerment and leadership role of school administrators in Polillo Island Municipalities for the School Year 2013-2014. Using the descriptive research, the study utilized school administrators and teachers as respondents. It was conducted in the First Congressional District of Quezon. Complete enumeration was done in the study as all the teachers from grade one to grade six in the four central schools and the school administrators in Polillo Island were part of the study. Survey instrument was used in gathering the data. Percentage, weighted mean and single factor ANOVA was used as statistical tools in analyzing the data. School administrators and teachers showed positive perceptions on the extent of empowerment of school administrators as well as on the leadership roles performed by the school administrators specifically in conducting trainings for professional growth; observing teaching-learning process through observation sheet; encouraging teachers to pursue graduate studies and to invite community to participate in the goals of the school. The study recommends that similar studies be conducted in other divisions in order to address more concerns on which extent of empowerment and leadership roles of school administrators are being practiced.
