Abstract

Nowadays, the use of computers in testing has been continuing to develop into a dynamic tool for student assessment. Thus, different educational institutions today are using computers in testing. The proposed study was titled “Development of a Performance Monitoring Assessment for Senior High School Students of STI College-Lucena”. This study was established to make Senior High School assessment more efficient and reliable due to the large numbers of students in the SHS department. With this, the proponent had a thorough study about the system that was developed for Senior High School students of STI College-Lucena. This system measured the students’ knowledge using General Knowledge Test and Specific Strand Test similar to the manual assessment of STI College-Lucena and provided instant scores, reports and analytics. To develop the system, the proponent investigated the problems encountered in facilitating assessment for Senior High School. The proposed system aimed to reduce the problems that were encountered in the current system. Furthermore, it would improve the process of the current system to make the process efficient and reliable and would help lessen the use of the paper and manpower. Based on the results acquired through system evaluation, the proposed system was proven to help save a lot of time on the part of the assessment moderator as well as the students.
