SMART LAUNDRY: A POINT-OF-SALE, ONLINE TRACKING AND MONITORING SYSTEM WITH DATA ANALYTICS-BASED REPORTS GENERATION FOR LABADITZ LAUNDRY SERVICE

Completed2019

Abstract

The study aimed to design a laundry point of sale system with an integrated Arduino weight scale sensor, an online laundry tracking for customers, and online descriptive data analytics. The system has a built-in weight scale sensor to provide an accurate measurement of a customer's laundry. In addition, the laundry point-of-sale system process customer payments and embed claim code on the receipt of the customers. As a result, the system will optimize business operations and allow tracking of sales electronically. Furthermore, the system will allow customers to track the status of their laundry online using their computer or mobile phones. It analyzes transaction data gathered by the POS system and converts them into detailed sales reports, such as daily and monthly sales reports, popular services availed by customers and branch sales report. Eventually, the system will provide a comprehensive understanding of customer behavior, monitor and analyze sales and ensuring the business is as efficient as possible by using descriptive analytics. The proponent used VB.NET as a development tool for the point-of-sale system for the online laundry tracking website. Prototyping model was used as the methodology of the system and will function as a guide in developing the project.
