Area of Research
Abstract
This study investigated the status of the Adopt-A-School Program in terms of
areas of support, implementation, factors affecting the sustainability of the program,
and its impact. Using descriptive research, a survey was conducted among the
school heads and teachers from the two districts of Pagbilao, Division of Quezon
who were chosen to answer the questionnaire. An interview was also conducted
among selected beneficiaries of the Adopt-A-School Program. Frequency,
percentage, weighted mean and t-test were used as statistical treatment.
Results revealed that the Adopt-a-School Program is strongly supported in
terms of infrastructure and equipment, learners and teaching and non-teaching
personnel support. Planning, organizing, designating, and transparency were found
very satisfactory as there is collaboration among stakeholders. However, availability
of target stakeholders in the community and knowledge of other organizations’
policies and services affect its implementation. The impact includes the improvement of physical facilities and attainment of healthy school-community
relations. School heads and teachers had very similar perception with regard to all
of these.
