Completed2019

Abstract

This study aimed to develop an Enhanced Brigada Eskwela Manual for school heads after assessing the practices of the school heads on the implementation of Brigada Eskwela in a DepEd Schools Division for the last five years (2013-2018), specifically the advocacy and marketing and resource mobilization (pre-implementation); implementation and evaluation and monitoring (implementation); reporting (post-implementation); and other innovations and strategies; and how they address the challenges. The participants are mostly females, ranging from 41 years or younger, are master’s degree holder (school heads and teachers) and with college education (other stakeholders) from medium elementary schools and used the frequency and percentage distribution, WAM (Weighted Arithmetic Mean), and ANOVA (Analysis of Variance) as statistical tools. Results showed that on the assessment of the three stages, indicators are very highly practiced. A significant difference on the knowledge on marketing, resource mobilization and implementation when grouped according to type of respondents was found out indicating the consideration of the type of respondents was revealed and significant difference on when grouped by sex on the knowledge of marketing and reporting indicating the consideration of their background characteristics to maximize their abilities. School heads addressed the challenges to assure a safe and conducive environment for learning. The researcher recommends the schools consider the a) background characteristics respondents to maximize their worth; b) specific areas of the three phases that needs modifications; c) differences among the respondents (their types and background characteristics); d) respondents’ background characteristics to potentiate their abilities; and e) challenges faced using management and leadership skills that will give safe and conducive environment for learning.
