EFFECTIVENESS OF SECURITY POLICIES IMPLEMENTED IN MANUEL S. ENVERGA UNIVERSITY FOUNDATION, LUCENA CITY
Abstract
This study focused on the effectiveness of security policies implemented in a private educational institution. Using descriptive research, a survey was conducted among students of the Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation in Lucena City, Quezon. One hundred respondents were chosen through simple random sampling. Frequency, weighted mean, and ranking were used analyze the data.
Results revealed that the MSEUF security is successful in imposing physical security throughout the university such as the No ID, No Entry policy, wearing of proper uniform, and prohibiting the use of drugs. CCTVs in libraries and offices are also used as part of security. On the other hand, inspecting carriages or belongings of those who get inside the University were found least effective. Common problems in the implementation of security policies were the lack of lighting and caution signs as well as the cooperation of students.
Proper training and formulation of innovative programs are therefore recommended to the security team of MSEUF so they can implement heightened security. MSEUF management should also consider upgrading the security system.
