A STUDY ON THE EFFECTIVENESS OF PATROL OPERATION IN CRIME PREVENTION IN SARIAYA QUEZON

ABSTRACT
This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of Patrol Operation in Crime Prevention in Sariaya, Quezon. The gathering of data was conducted in Sariaya, Quezon. A total of 50 respondents who have the knowledge about patrol operation.
Results revealed thatmobile patrolling can easily observes what is happening in the community, the police officers can respond immediately in the call of emergency,law and ordinances were successfully implemented and patrol officers could thoroughly observed the area for possible offender in the area. This implies that patrol operation is very effective in crime prevention.
Meanwhile the problem encountered during patrolling includes the personnel in charge of it. Patrol officers don’t have adequate support such as vehicle, radios and other equipment needed in patrolling and the area is too large for the foot patrol officers and foot patrol officers can experience bad weather and mobile patrol officer could not thoroughly observe the area for possible offenders hiding in the area.
Since the PNP is concerned in this matter the PNP must develop their equipment needed in patrolling, and they must have enough patrol officers conducting patrol in their area of responsibility for police visibility. Patrol officers must have to achieve their goal or objectives in conducting patrol operation. They should create an additional programs or seminar on the citizens on how they can avoid to possible crime that they may have encounter and how to prevent
