Since most are inclined with films, they are in some ways affected with what these films contain. There are such things that we call stereotyping, and subliminal messages and people sometimes have no idea that they are already experiencing this things. But then again, people’s perception is affected by so many things. This can be personal backgrounds that help them receive the perception they are getting from films. The study is about the perception of MSEUF students to Philippine indie films. Unlike mainstream movies, indie films rarely receives popularity. But since the world is changing and so is our generation, indie film makers are smart enough to think of ways to catch up with the industry. But then again, it’s hard to identify who truly brings the soul out of the films and who’s only after the benefits. So, this study is conducted with the researcher’s curiosity of whether people get the messages this film makers wants to share. Or, how do people see indie films. Since it is gaining its name and popularity with the audience. The researcher would want to find out why they watch, how they watch it, and what effects does it give.
