EFFECTIVENESS OF METHODS IMPLEMENTED BY THE POLICE INVESTIGATORS IN RECORDING THE CRIME SCENE IN POLICE STATIONS IN 3RD AND 4TH DISTRICS OF QUEZON PROVINCE

Abstract
This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of methods implemented by the police investigators in recording the crime scene. The gathering of the data was conducted in Padre Burgos Municipal Police Station, Agdangan Municipal Police Station, Unisan Municipal Police Station, Macalelon Municipal Police Station, Pitogo Municipal Police Station, General Luna Municipal Police Station, and Catanauan Municipal Police Station in 3rd District and Atimonan Municipal Police Station, Plaridel Municipal Police Station, Gumaca Municipal Police Station, Lopez Municipal Police Station, Calauag Municipal Police Station, Guinayangan Municipal Police Station and Tagkawayan Municipal Police Station in 4th District of Quezon Province. A total of 72 police investigators answered the survey questionnaire.
Results revealed that the methods implemented by the police investigators makes effective in note taking, crime scene photography, sketching and mapping and videotaping which are essential in the recording the crime scene. This implies that the methods are very effective in recording the crime scene.
Since the police investigators are concerned in this matter it is recommended that they should follow and applied these methods. Moreover, they should also conduct an evaluation of the methods in recording the crime scene to identify what should be enhanced to make it more effective.
