Abstract

This study aimed to determine the income and expenditure pattern of selected households in Barangay, Bukal, Pagbilao, Quezon, and the factors that may affect the income and expenditure pattern of the families. The researcher used descriptive method of research in conducting the study. Questionnaires in the form of checklist served as primary data gathering instrument. This was personally distributed to 100 selected households who are residences of Barangay Bukal, also census in this community and also 10 years existing in the Barangay. Findings revealed that a food was the highest expenditure of the households followed by education. Primary needs have the greatest affect and influence on the income and expenditure pattern of the families. Beside households are also affected by changing price of product, quality of product, increasing the tax by the government and also limited money to spend for their daily consumption, families affected by the uncontrolled money to spend It is recommendation that families should be wise enough in budgeting and allocating their little amount of resources and should set a standard in choosing in a certain products in order to maximize their money; Government should set price control for the basic goods on a long term basis. Regulatory office/ agency should monitor the implementation of the price control. Set price standard for basic commodities, of every business. Stakeholders to create extend job opportunity. Give support for other livelihood to be established by NGO’s and LGU’s.
