Problems Encountered by the Bureau of Fire Protection and Lucena City Filipino Chinese Fire Brigade in Responding to Conflagration in Lucena City

This study aimed to determine the problems encountered by the Bureau of Fire Protection and Non-Governmental Organization. The data gathering was conducted in Bureau of Fire Protection in Lucena City and Philippine Chamber of Commerce Brigade. A total of 50 respondents answered on the research instrument. Results revealed the major and minor problems of the respondents. Responding to conflagration is the main duty of the BFP with the support of PCCB Despite the fact that the respondents is always have a problem in responding to conflagration, their trainings developed them to adjust on the difficult situation. There is no hesitation on the side of the fire fighters even if their lives is on danger. Meanwhile, the problems encountered in the training are very minor for the BFP because some of them not undergo in the Jungle environment survival training because it given only the personnel that are 10 years below but it is a minor problem. In terms of equipment and materials used them in responding to conflagration the BFP and Lucena City Filipino Chinese Fire Brigade lack on safety gears and shield to protect them from harm, they lack on skills because they were undergo only the basic training. On the equipment and materials, they didn’t have sufficient number of equipment and material. Since those problems are minor for BFP, it is recommended that they should collect and reserve funds to give each personnel a safety gears to protect them from harm. For the Lucena City Filipino Chinese Fire Brigade they should be cooperate to the BFP for the trainings and seminar so they can know what is the trainings of the BFP.
