Healthcare Practices of inmates and its implication to the improvement of Health Care Program

Abstract
This study investigates the healthcare practices among selected inmates in Quezon Province, as basis for the improvement of the Health Care Program. Utilizing a stratified random sampling, data were collected from eighty (80) inmates, majority of whom belonging to middle adulthood who have stayed in the institution for more than 3 years. Healthcare practices were assessed in terms of dietary intake, exercise and food handling and preparation. Study results revealed that dietary intake and exercise , food handling and preparation were observed by the respondents. In terms of the institution's programs, it revealed that provisions for dietary program , exercise and food handling and preparation were always implemented by the said institution. Moreover, it revealed that the respondents strongly agreed that the institution comply with the provision of laws that guarantee the health care services provided for the respondents.
