EFFECTIVENESS OF AUTOMOBILE PATROL IN CRIME PREVENTION IN THE CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT OF LUCENA CITY

ABSTRACT The study focused on the effectiveness of automobile patrol in crime prevention in the central business district of Lucena City. The result shows that the managers or supervisors of the central business district of Lucena City always observe that automobile patrol is conducted in the afternoon and in the evening. They also think that patrolling on parking lots lessens the incidence of auto theft and robbery. It also provides quick response to emergency calls at crises situation. It is recommend that everyone in the community should give help and support the crime prevention effort of automobile patrol in Lucena City Police Station. To these patrol officers it is highly recommended that they be more efficient and effective by doing routine patrol and observation duties requiring good visibility to avoid critics from the owners, supervisor, and manager of the business establishment owners and even on ordinary members of society to build the good image and gain the trust and confidence of society to their organization.
