Financial Literacy and Financial Management Practices of Employees in a Private University

Abstract
The study looked into the financial literacy and financial management practices of permanent employees in a private university. Using survey questionnaire, the researcher assessed the employee's understanding of what is credit, savings and investment as well as the actual practices of the said financial concepts. Relationship between financial literacy and and demographic factors as well financial management practices and demographic factors were explored. Results revealed that majority of of the respondents are female, married, and with master's degrees. In terms of their understanding, many of the respondents showed moderate to high literacy in savings and investments, while generally the respondents showed moderate literacy to credit. Significant relationships were established between the parameters of the study and the demographic profile of respondents.
