LEVEL OF AWARENESS OF SELECTED DETAINEES TO THE WRIT OF AMPARO IN CONNECTION WITH THE R.A 10640

This study aimed to determine the level of awareness of the detainee to the writ of amparo in connection with R.A 10640. It answered the following questions: What is the demographic profile of the respondents in terms of sex, age, educational attainment, number of siblings; annual family income before they detained? What ideas are held by detainee of the drug detainee about Writ of Amparo? What is the level of awareness of detainee of the drug detainee about the provisions of the Writ of Amparo? What are the possible programs/solutions of the government officials for the detainee to be aware to the writ of amparo? The study used the general pattern of a descriptive design to evaluate the level of awareness of selected detainee to the writ of amparo in Pagbilao District Jail. Research revealed that the respondents’ attorney discusses the writ of amparo, and they also watch news and hear a radio in the jail. It states that if the detainee needs to have an idea in the writ of amparo in connection to their cases, they needs to focus on these possible indicators for them to know the provision of writ of amparo; The respondents are aware of some of the provision especially on the right of security, right of life, right of liberty and on where did they file the provision but they need to strengthen the awareness of the drug detainee to the provision; and There are lots of possible programs of the government to the drug detainee to be aware to the writ of amparo, but there are needs to prioritize the factors in the jail that can easily acquire. In the jail there are attorney of the detainees, a televisions, radios, and a BJMP officials; to easily meet the awareness of the detainee to the writ of amparo, these indicators will be useful.
