THE STATUS OF THERAPEUTIC COMMUNITY MODALITY PROGRAM IN DISTRICT JAIL IN PAGBILAO QUEZON

Abstract
The research study used descriptive survey method to gather information in an attempt to determine the effectiveness of therapeutic community modality program in the provincial jail. The study was conducted in the District Jail of Pagbilao Quezon. The respondents of the study particularly are the detainees. A survey questionnaire was used as the data gathering instrument of this study. It has four parts: which contains the demographic profile of the respondents, the activities of therapeutic community modality program in district jail, the perceived importance of therapeutic modality program among the detainees and the level of implementation of therapeutic community modality program in district jail. The collected data were treated statistically using standard statistical tools. Based from the findings, the following conclusions were made by the researchers: After the data gathering by the researchers in terms of demographic profile most of the respondents were ages 27-29 years old. The respondents were male, graduate of vocational courses and 1-3 years in prison. Most common activities happened in TCMP were behavior Management and there was one on one counseling and there was Reflection activities. That in terms of the importance of the therapeutic modality program for the detainees. TCMP are important for the following reasons: Therapeutic program increased awareness on the changes needs for the community, it helps to renew life and helping a person form good attitudes.
