LEVEL OF UNDERSTANDING OF SELECTED DRIVERS REGARDING TRAFFIC RULES AND REGULATIONS BEING IMPLEMENTED IN LUCENA CITY

This study determined the level of understanding of selected drivers regarding traffic rules and regulations being implemented in Lucena City. Utilizing the descriptive-survey method, a total of 50 selected drivers from selected areas of Lucena City were chosen through the use of random sampling. A devised questionnaire which was divided into three (3) parts was utilized as a research instrument. Statistical tools used were frequency-percentage distribution and weighted arithmetic mean. Findings of the study revealed that the selected drivers of Lucena City have enough and high level of understanding regarding the traffic rules and regulations being implemented in Lucena City particularly in the attachment of seat belts for all types of motor vehicles. The study also revealed that if the traffic rules and regulations are properly followed by all the drivers of Lucena City, the possible impact would be minimized injuries and fatalities, will develop discipline among the drivers and smooth flow of traffic.
