Completed2015

Abstract

The study entitled "Determinants of Locality-of-Choice: The Case of Healthcare Industry" was conducted to assess the healthcare market in Lucena City. Analysis of data revealed that Lucena City has an ample inventory of healthcare professionals and services, however in spite of these, there are still a considerable number of patients transferred-out from Lucena City to seek further care outside, whether its for further medical/surgical care and/or diagnostic services. This outflow of patients, as consequence, resulted in big income loss for the local community. Recommendations were outlined to put in place proper infrastructures; in terms of facilities, capacitating human capital, and streamlining of local investment policies.
