Level of Implementation of R.A 10066 or the National and Cultural Act of 2009 in the Protection and Conservation of Local Heritage in Sariaya, Quezon

Abstract

This study is focused on determining the level of implementation of the R.A 10066 or the National Cultural Heritage Act of 2009. Basically a descriptive survey research that utilize quantitative and qualitative procedures to assess the level of of implementation of the different programs/activities implemented by the local government of Sariaya, Quezon in terms of the protection and conservation of local heritages. Findings revealed that the local government have poor support on the protection and conservation of the local heritages in their municipality. The study also shows that the awareness of the local residents are very low in regards with the issue, either they are unaware of what is happening to their heritages or they simply don’t care. This entails the need for the Local Government Units to exert more efforts and implement local ordinances that would help assure the protection and conservation of the local heritages in the municipality. There is also a need for the local residents attachment to the issue to further help the growth of the economy of the municipality.
