Level of Efficiency of Selected Barangay Health Centers in Lucena City in the Delivery of Services to Women and Children

Abstract

This study sought to analyze the level of efficiency of the selected barangay health center in Lucena City in the delivery of services to women and children by determining the services provided by the centers whether these services are accessible and available to the community and to know the level of satisfaction of the respondents in their delivery and the problems encountered in the delivery. Basically, this is a descriptive research where the survey questionnaire was used to gather the necessary information. The locale is composed of 10 selected barangay health centers where the respondents are purposive selected composed of 100 women mothers wherein their answers represent also to those of their children. The findings points out that the barangay health centers are effective in the implementation of the basic services that makes the respondents contented rather than having nothing at all. Also, there are problems in the delivery of the services in regards to human resources and lack of medicine and adequate equipment. It is recommended that the LGU and DOH must hire competent staff and to encourage the public to participate in the seminar plus to support the development of centers for a better quality of service especially in the procurement of supplies.
