Completed2017

Abstract

This study focused on analyzing the the Filipino Psychology over the years, particularly, the accommodative surface values of Generation X, the Millenials, and Generation Z. It employed the descriptive research design wherein survey and case studies were used. The study was conducted in Tayabas City. There were total of 60 respondents who were purposively selected. Frequency and weighted mean were used in the statistical analysis while thematic analysis was used for the analytical framework. Analysis of the results reveals that the respondents from Generation X, Millennials, and Generation Z have almost the same perception of hiya, pakikisama, and utang na loob. Subsequently, utang na loob is the most practiced accommodative surface value of Generation X and Generation Z; and Millennial’s most practiced accommodative surface value is hiya. The least practiced value of the three generations is pakikisama. The informants from Generation X, Millennials, and Generation Z in Tayabas do not have much difference in practicing hiya, pakikisama and utang na loob. Different interpretations and definitions from informants of Generation X, Millennials, and Generation Z show that they have diverse understanding about the words hiya, pakikisama and utang na loob.
