EFFECTS OF POLITICAL INFLUENCE ON THE PERFORMANCE OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF POLICE OFFICERS IN CANDELARIA, QUEZON AND LUCENA CITY

This study aimed to determine the effects of political influence on the performance of duties and responsibilities. The gathering of data was conducted in Candelaria Quezon and Lucena City.. The researchers utilized the descriptive-survey method of research. A total of 100 respondents answered the questionnaire. Majority or 48% of the community respondent were 25-30 years old. 32% were 41-45 years old, 12% were belong in31-35 years old and 8% were 36-40 years old. The male and female almost got the same member which were 51% were male and 49% were female. Majority or 54% were married, 38% were single 6% were widow/widower and 2% were separated. The community respondents were 47% of college graduate; 47% of secondary graduate and 6% were elementary graduate. Majority or 44% had 20 years above of residency, 16% were 16- 20 years citizen, 13% living in the area for 1- 5 years, 8% were living in 6-10 years and 7% living in the area in 1 year below. That in terms of political influence on crime prevention the respondents said that the proper investigation of law was sabotage by politician with a total weighted mean of 3.97. They also said that they least identified was the change in the suppression of crime is often recommended by incumbent politician and they are still influenced by its fulfilment. That in terms of investigation of cases, the transferring of police that have favoured an investigation for the politics has the strongest effect on the investigation of cases with the total weighted mean of 4.11. They also said that the equipment for the investigation was limited by the politician was the least perceived which had strong affect by political influence with the total weighted mean of 3.9. That in terms of policing system, the community respondents are strongly agree that the most affected by political influence of the illegal activities under the powerful politician with the weighted mean of 4.13 they also said that the promotion of police have recommendation from politician from politician is the most vague situation on the policing system influenced by politician. That in terms of the recommendation to minimize the political influence, the educational system in criminology must be increase quality and give emphasis to the true goal in protecting ordinary citizen had the highest total weighted mean of 4.64. They also said that the politician showed not be used the police as assistance or as private guards got the least rank with the total weighted mean of 4.24.
