LEVEL OF ACCEPTABILITY OF THE PROPOSED SENATE BILL NO. 3184 POLICE HEIGHT EQUALITY ACT OF 2012 AS PERCEIVED BY CRIMINOLOGY STUDENTS AND POLICE OFFICERS

Abstract

This study aim to determine the level of acceptability of the proposed senate bill 3184 as perceived by the criminology students and police officers. The gathering of data was conducted in Camp Guillermo Nakar. Lucena City and Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation, Lucena City and the researchers utilized the descriptive-survey method of research. A total of 100 respondents answer the questionnaire composed of 50 Criminology Students and 50 Police Officers. Findings revealed that baccalaureate degree graduates who are underheight will be encouraged to enter in the PNP. In terms of timeliness the respondent’s perceived that Senate Bill 3184 is timely because it encourages more Filipino whether physically short or not to join the police force and serve their fellowmen. Meanwhile, in the level of acceptability of the Proposed Senate Bill 3184, they said that Senate Bill promotes equality among aspiring law enforcers, abolishes racial discrimination especially among indigenous Filipinos and will help enhance the positive image of the police. Since the Criminology Students and Police Officers are concerned this Senate Bill 3184 enlarged the race of indigenous group on PNP organization and strengthened because it will be able to recruit more applicants
