Abstract

Integration of ICT in the teaching and learning process are probably one of the most exciting and challenging innovations in the 21st century. Thus, teachers need to utilize newly developed technologies, inventions, and internet to improve the abilities and capabilities in presenting information. Presenting lessons in an interactive manner and enhanced it with newly developed technologies compared to the traditional method of teaching, learners may sense their environment in different way and may construct meaning based on their experiences and producing unique interaction of ideas with their teachers. The main objective of this study is developed an interactive learning module (ILM) for the pre-service teachers teaching grade 7 science. Different formative evaluation was done by the IT experts, grade 7 science teachers, pre-service teachers and grade 7 students on the developed interactive learning module, try out of the ILM to the target users were also done to gather information and feedback for revision purposes. The module was developed following the systematic instructional K-12 curriculum guide and Science Learners’ module for grade 7 science. The researchers employed the Rapid Application Development (RAD) as research methodology. Adobe Flash and HTML5 were used to create interactive simulations and animations of each lesson in the module. Higher education institutions of the country offering teacher education and training are considered as the primary beneficiaries of the result of this study. This study will also provide baseline information or data in developing other interactive teaching module for the other subject
