Development of CETD Information System for OJT and Career Placement in the Industry

Completed2013

Abstract

Apprehensions that the current education system cannot satisfactorily prepare and train students for their respective careers in the future have encouraged educators to formulate new ways of improving education. For two years now, the College of Engineering and Technical Department has been implementing the Outcomes Based Education. With this, the researchers came up of designing and developing a system that will help the College in their shift to OBE. The system holds all the information of its OJT students, its graduates and the Company Linkages. The researchers used the waterfall model in developing the system for the study and the processes include requirement analysis, software designs, implementation and integration, testing and validation, deployment and maintenance. Upon completion of the system it was tested and validated by the faculty of the college and an overall result of 3.7 with a description of “Very good” was achieved. CETD Information System for OJT and Career Placement is indeed found an effective means in supporting OBE for the College of Engineering and Technical Department. The project is very timely as the college continuously improving its system for the better implementation of outcomes based education.
