CYBERCRIME AWARENESS AMONG VARIED GENERATIONS IN LUCENA CITY

Abstract
The study evaluated the level of cybercrime awareness across different generations in Lucena City, focusing on identifying demographic profiles, and the level of awareness of the varied generations of cybercrime. This study focused on the objectives to seek significant generational differences. This study aimed to prevent widespread cybercrime attacks on the
internet and technology users. It also developed a promotional awareness campaign about
Republic Act 10175 the cybercrime law to Generation X (ages 44-59), Millennials (ages 28-43),
and Generation Z (ages 11-26). This quantitative research utilized a descriptive design. A selfconstructed questionnaire was utilized to gather data from a total of 150 respondents (50 per
generation) in Lucena City. Quota sampling was used to select participants from each
generation, ensuring they meet the specific age ranges and availability. Using WAM, the
following was found: Generation Z is highly aware and has knowledge of cybercrime while millennials and Generation X show a lack of knowledge and are strongly not aware of Cyber
Crimes.
