PERCEIVED EFFECTS OF PANTAWID PAMILYANG PILIPINO PROGRAM (4P’S) TO THE SOCIOECONOMIC STATUS OF THE COMMUNITY

Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4P’s) flagship program of the government deals with minimizing of poverty and hunger especially to those belong to below poverty level. The 4Ps program is designed not only to address the immediate needs of impoverished families but to also foster long-term improvements in their socioeconomic status. The purpose of this study was to determine and analyze the perceived effects of Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4P’s) to the socioeconomic status of the community. The researchers employed descriptive method using quantitative research design. A total of three hundred and sixty (360) 4P’s beneficiaries were the respondents of this study. Purposive sampling was utilized. The locale of this study was situated in the selected barangays in Lucena City. The researchers developed a self-made questionnaire as the main research instrument. This undergone the process of validation and pilot testing ensuring accuracy and credibility. It was revealed that the 4P’s beneficiaries have basic understanding about the objectives, rationale, and importance of the implemented programs. The findings of the study reveal that the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) has a significant positive impact on the socioeconomic status of beneficiary communities. It emphasizes the vital importance of the 4Ps in improving the socioeconomic welfare of underprivileged communities. Thus, it is recommended to propose seminars and trainings to increase and sharpen the knowledge and understanding of the beneficiaries to the goals, objectives, and rationale of the 4P’s program.
