Navigating Career Challenges: The Struggles of Registered Criminologists in Securing Stable Employment

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to highlight the challenges that registered criminologists encountered when trying to obtain steady employment. The researchers also aimed to address the shortcomings and constraints in the field of registered criminology as well as the larger societal issues that contributed to obstacles by examining the difficulties experienced by these professionals. This study extensively examined the struggles faced by registered criminologists graduating from Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation (MSEUF) in pursuit of securing stable employment. The investigation encompassed a detailed analysis of various factors that played a role in their job search, including their educational background, skill sets, and the dynamic demands of the industry. The researchers employed a descriptive quantitative method as the main research design. The findings showed that the majority of the registered Criminologists were unemployed or underemployed. This meant that there was a gap between their skills and experiences and the target employment. Unemployment became an issue where they worked in jobs that did not fully utilize their skills or provide career growth. This led to dissatisfaction and frustration within the profession. It was also found that Criminologists faced various challenges and obstacles in securing employment.
