AN ANALYSIS ON THE WORK PERFORMANCE OF POLICEWOMEN AS PERCEIVED BY THEIR SUPERIORS

Abstract
Philippine National Police are mostly male-dominated, and females are
traditionally working house chores and staying at home or either working in a job but not
in PNP. With this, the primary concern of this study is to identify the common
assignments given to women police officers by their superiors and to analyze the work
performance of women police at the workplace in selected police stations in Quezon
Province, specifically the challenges faced by women police as the most evident
problem. This study used descriptive method to identify the work performance and the
challenges face by women police in the workplace of the selected police stations in
Quezon Province. The researchers used Raosoft calculator, from a total of 100
population, total of 80 respondents were needed to conduct the study. The research
study was conducted at selected police stations in Quezon Province. It explores the
demographic profile, work performance, and challenges of woman police officers in
Quezon Province particularly in support-focused assignments such as domestic violence and victim assistance. The researchers have proposed the reconsideration
of task distribution for women police officers, providing more tactical roles, work
performance analysis, and promotion of female leadership, to make it a
more equitable and supportive environment.
