THE IMPACT OF CCTV CAMERAS INSIDE THE CAMPUS TO THE SAFETY AND SECURITY OF STAKEHOLDERS

This study examined the impact of CCTV monitoring on crime prevention, investigative support, and the overall sense of safety the stakeholders of the campus. To assess the role of CCTV in enhancing campus security, a quantitative approach was employed, using survey questionnaire to gather data from key stakeholders within the school. The research found that while CCTV monitoring significantly improved the perceived sense of safety among students, employees, and visitors, gaps in coverage limited its full potential Key findings include the positive effects of CCTV in crime deterrence, supporting investigations, and enhancing the overall sense of security. The results indicated significant difference in perceptions of the advantages and safety impact of CCTV cameras, especially between teachers and other groups. Teachers usually evaluated the advantages and safety implications more highly than students and staff/employees. However, there were not any significant difference in the three groups' perceptions of the disadvantages of CCTV cameras, showing that everyone agrees on the possible problems. This study is particularly useful for policymakers and educational institutions seeking to improve campus security measures. It also aligns with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 on Quality Education and SDG 16 on Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions, emphasizing the importance of safe educational settings for ensuring access to quality education and fostering peaceful societies.
