Abstract

The Barangay Justice System serves as a community-oriented solution to settle conflicts among fellow residents. Its main purpose is to aid grassroots communities in achieving fair resolution outcomes without resorting to adversarial procedures. The main objective of the study was to assess how barangay justice serves as an alternative to court litigation in Brgy. Mayao Castillo, Lucena city. The researchers utilized the descriptive method under a quantitative research design. The main task of the researchers was to determine the capacity of barangay as an alternative in court litigation. The research locale was situated in Barangay Mayao Castillo, Lucena City. The target respondents of this study were two hundred and fifty(250) residents in the barangay as per the RAOSOFT calculator. The researchers incorporated questionnaire type upon the research respondents. This research study intended to address the gaps in the improvement of court litigation at the barangay level. The findings revealed that the conflict resolution and speedy justice processes by barangay court litigation are significant to achieving its primary mandates. The successful implementation of barangay court litigation heavily relies on its court officials. The competence and skills of barangay officials are one of the foundation of handling major or minor cases. It is recommended that barangay officials are one of the foundation of handling major or minor cases. Lastly, the main output of this study is the development of a brochure for the dissemination of information.
